Le Coteau overlooks the village of Olliergues situated in the Dore valley, almost mid-way between Thiers and Ambert.

It's only a 5 minute walk down to the village square where you will find shops including a Bakery, Cheese Shop, Tabac, Frippery, Pharmacy, Alternative Medicine Pharmacy, Petit Casino and, of course, our own restaurant, cafe & bar - Terroir 63. 

Additionally, there are 2 hairdressers, several alternative therapy practitioners plus a beautician & spa. The market square is home to the Tourism Office and a Saturday morning market throughout the year as well as on Summer Sundays, a Locavore Market with produce from local gardens and farms, handmade cheese, wild yeast bread and other specialities of the immediate area.  The Chateau in the centre of the village houses a museum and in the surrounding streets, 3 art galleries and artisan workshops producing pencils and wickerwork.   There are events all year round within the village - please see our news page or follow us on social media for up to date information.
