Table d'hôte

The produce of the Auvergne is fabulous, world famous cheeses, cured meats, perfect fruits and luscious vegetables.  Whether it be a sultry summer evening on the terrace or a snowy night around the kitchen table, our table d’hote is extremely special.  Using the freshest local ingredients our dishes are inspired by the seasons, the local market and our own home-grown produce.   Sam is an award winning chef and unpasteurised cheese aficionado who is also extremely experienced in catering for different dietary requirements (such as gluten-free, vegan, locavore, lactose intolerant) and special requests.

Table d’hote evening (canapes, starter, main course, dessert and coffee) – 22€ adult, 10€ child

By reservation only.

The Grazing Table and Summer BBQ

Weather permitting, we offer relaxed dining under the stars with our 'Grazing Table' laden with mountain ham, raw-milk cheeses, homemade breads, delicious salads and traditional mountain dishes from both the Auvergne and our native Scottish highlands. Homemade puddings and fresh fruit from the garden are rounded off with coffee and marshmallows roasted on the fire pit. A unique opportunity to try the wide range of amazing local produce and dishes.

The Grazing Table - 22€ Adult, 10€ Child (We do not charge for children under 5) By reservation only.

Start your day with homemade butter on freshly baked bread, jams made with fruit from our garden, fresh mountain cheese, yoghurt, cured meats and sweet pastries.  Fresh coffee, tea, hot chocolate and fruit juices served in the garden room or on the terrace.  Kedgeree and our full cooked ‘Biker’s breakfast' are also available by reservation (48 hours notice please)

Clotted Cream Teas

Possibly the only clotted cream tea available this side of Calais. Using local Auvergnat milk, Sam has perfected the recipe for traditional clotted cream which, by reservation, we serve in the garden with homemade scones, butter, jam and a pot of English tea.

Let us take you on an edible journey through the ‘Route des Fromages’, immersing you in French food culture and revealing the histories behind the local produce. ‘CheeseSkool’ is a 2.5 hour workshop dedicated to tasting, discussing and discovering cheese. World famous Auvergne AOP cheeses, no-name artisanals and rare mirco-local market produce.
